The University of Texas at San Antonio Music Department was established in 1975, one year after music courses were added to the University's curriculum. It was known as the Division of Music under various colleges from 1975-2002, when it was renamed the Department of Music (or Music Department) under the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. As of 2009, the Music Department offers Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. Additionally, the department hosts frequent events throughout the year, including concerts and recitals of faculty and staff, as well as the annual Madrigal Dinner. The collection spans the years 1975 through 2006 and includes programs of recitals and concerts of the faculty and students of the UTSA Music Department. Also included are black-and-white photographs of various performances and events.
